One of the things my children love the most when October comes around every year is participating in our neighborhood "Boo-ing"...
Once upon an October night, your doorbell will ring but there's no one in sight!
The trick is to leave a treat by a neighbors front door, ring the doorbell and quickly hide out of sight so as not to be caught. Special instructions are left with the treat to place a sign on the door and to "Boo" two more neighbors within a few days to keep the tradition going throughout the neighborhood.
